So I got a random email today from the guy that has the Red/Tan 355 fiorano in MT. He seemed kinda concerned about how I found his email, and I told him I emailed him through Ferrari Chat, but he still seemed nervous. In anycase, he says anything is technically for sale and asked me to make him an offer. I have a number in my head, but I wanted to find out what you guys think would be a fair price for this car. Ive seen them go for about 100k on ebay (F1 trans). What do you guys think?

How mant miles? Was the 30K service done? If so, how long ago? Have the headers been replaced? Make sure to get a PPI including a leak down and compression test.

it has about 11k miles. Not sure if headers have been replaced, but it has Tubi. Also not sure about 30k. I would def do a PPI. The guy seemed like he didnt want to give me info. I asked if I could get some pictures and hes like the car is a 9 out of 10. Thats it. What do you think?

The Fiorano's should not be susceptible to header problems. That the least of the worries.

I'd be more concerned about that F1 transmission.

I would ask what # in the series the car is and how long he's had it. There was one for sale out of Texas about 8-10 months advertised as perfect, but Carfax said it had been in an accident!

    So, ask many questions first.

Dude you were so hot for that manual, if you want it pay him and blow off the rest!

This PPI and valve guide and header nonsense will cost you the deal on a one of a kind vehicle..

Buy it as best you can negotiate, and fix the rest......no big deal.

I'm amazed how buyers think the seller owes THEM a favor..he has the car..you want it....

    Pay at the window....LOL!

I think everything has its price and yes, it is the car ive been looking for. Infact, its the only one of its kind in the world. But then again, im not paying a crazy amount for it. Im not an idiot and wont take the car without a PPI and all the tests. I work hard for my money and am not about to throw it away.

Image finding the perfect hot girl, but in the end if she just costs you money and gives you headaches, its time for her to take a hike.

This is sort of an unusual thread. Why is the seller being evasive as suggested in the original post? If he's selling a car, why is he concerned about how you got his e-mail address. Finally, I would never buy a car private sale without a PPI and full service records. If the seller is unwilling to accomodate that, I would walk and just find a really good '99 355.

Also, I'm not sure I understand the comment about the headers. Maybe the post meant it won't have the value guide issues that earlier cars may exhibit??

I agree with Tim. AFAIK, the Fiorano has the same Headers as the other 355s.Eventually they will need replacing.

I am with BigTex. Cripes, buy the car, and IF there is anything you dont like, then pay to change it.

Sheezz. How do you see that as throwing away your hard earned money? No matter what ever happens with the car, you will still have a great rare car worth plenty!.. Period. How is that throwing away money? You type like you will end up with nothing if you dont cover every base, yet you seem to forget that you will still have the car. I dont see that as a loss or any type of major risk.

    Live man live!

Let me get this straight, you want to buy a Fiorano manual transmission ( a very rare car ) so you contacted as many of the Fiorano owners as you could asking them to sell you their cars, right ?
I would say since the seller never advertised the car for sale, you would have to to pay what he wants for the car or else keep looking until you find one for 100K,period......

Wow Parikh1234, your catching alot of flack. I'm with you though. I would cover all my bases first. Always best to be safe then sorry. There is so much dishonest business going on nowadays. I certainly don't blame you for asking all the right questions. For 95% of people in America, spending $100k on a car is nothing to jump blindly into.

    Good Luck!!

If this is the car you really want and only want they you have one of two choices.

    1. If the owner is willing to sell (soliceted by you) then you have to be willing to buy.

    2. Wait, be patient and hopefully you get lucky with a car like this one coming on the market at a price that is affordable to you.

Thanks. I agree. I can afford the car, and I am not one of those people that lives beyond my means. I am also not one to just throw 100+k around blindly. I really do work hard for everything I earn. I might not be able to get an enzo or anything, but between this car and the gallardo I might pick up, i dont think its too shabby. Just because this guy is willing to sell, doesnt mean hes selling for the right price. I was simply asking what you guys would look for and how much you think the car is worth (realistically), assuming the car was for sale. Imagine you saw this car on ebay, what would you consider a fair BIN price? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

If you know of a manual trans one closer to the NJ/NY area please let me know. I am def willing to pay over 100 but would like to keep it closer to 100. This depends on the condition of the car.
