I brought back a nasty head cold from Las Vegas so did not open anything special last two days (although Mrs. Hall likes her Merry Edwards SB). Was too out of it at Le Cirque dinner to order anything but did have nice 06 Leroy at Picasso.

I was afraid it was too young - but to be honest, it did not disappoint... ( it's true that Burgundy do not need aging like Bordeaux though)

2015 was a wonderful vintage as you know Jim, and in Guigal's hands, all the better. Cheers.

Lolwut. Tasting notes/ experience please? Have you had these since release? A friend and I bought 8 cases of 82s as futures. Drank the last one of my share maybe 5 years ago...a La Lagune and it was fantastic/

I bought these a while back, not on release.

Gazin was funky when opened. Decanted probably 3 hours or so and the funk was gone. Tobacco, plum, and leather.

Le gay was quite nice. Definately had a few years left in it. Decanted 2 hours. Truffle, leather, and dark fruits. Was very nice.

My Father's 80th birthday. I have one bottle left, had the first on my 50th and this second one this week on Dad's big day. An absolute privilege to share it with him.

I'm not an expert by any stretch and wines like this aren't commonplace for me.
I would say that this bottle was richer and more complex than 3 years ago.
An absolute pleasure to share and enjoy.

For the every day, drinking wine part of this thread. This is something that I get quite a bit of. I like Pinos and I can get this through naked wines, which makes things very easy. It’s a good drinking wine that I appreciate.

very nice, one of the best 66's (my birth year, sadly the last of my LMHB was drank on my 50th).

How was it showing another 8 years on?

Leather/tobacco/earthy initially. After around 2.5 or 3 hours some dried fruit came out. Really lovely.

I bought some Petrus and first growths recently as well. Good times ahead!

This is a mouth full of wine. I think it was a mid 90s Parker upon release. Martini is an old line vintner as you all know. Their Alexander and Sonoma wines are good values in grocery store wines. This one, my last of six I bought a number of years ago, is still perfectly in balance. Chocolate, black fruits, strong coffee but a round smooth, long finish. Lovely and a great bargain. Their Napa is also a great bargain. Cheers, Keith

"La Lagune"...another one that, as a young man with a modest salary, you could nevertheless order in any parisian restaurant without an afterthought in 1990 (I was 30...) and without been ripped off. Today...ah well, the good old days, before the Chinese exploded the prices...
