I really don’t think greys or whites come close to Rosso Maranello on the F12. But then again I am a bit biased!

Red looks good in the engine bay too.

Oh, you're right. I'm sure I've seen your steed at FoW as well. I actually think Maranello is a perfect color for every current Ferrari save the FF. FF needs a more subtle color, white being my personal favorite. Romo has an F12 in Maranello in the area as well. Wonder if I'll see them parked side by side at Katies or the Spring Thaw sometime :)

I actually prefer RC on the 458 and LaF. The 458 is a bit too sporty and could even pull off the very bright reds/oranges. And the LaF, well when I think LaF, I just see RC with the black top. Yes, ROMO is in our area and has a Maranello F12 as well but with a black interior. Would love to coordinate a trip to Katies. Is the Spring Thaw in Westminster? Really have not been to either.

I think the best color varies on the car's lines. I like just about any color but some models wear it well - some not so much. Normally the car's shown in Geneva at the car show are set in the best looking colors for each model. So far that seems to be a good measuring stick.

The Spring Thaw is an event that routinely kicks off the FCA-MAR calendar every April. It's hosted by Laura Ebert, daughter of Bill and Betty Ebert. Bill and Betty are very active in FCA and were instrumental along with Ron (Toggie) in putting together the festivities for this year's annual meet. Some events come and go year to year, but the Spring Thaw remains. Typically it is held in Reston Town Center, though last year we boycotted in favor of Clydes of Tysons over RTC raising our fee by some 250%. We all want to go back to Reston though, so I expect Laura will bluff them some this Spring but ultimately capitulate as necessary to take us home. The nice thing about Reston is we use the pavilion outside Clydes as a corral of sorts, and with the fence around Clydes makes for a venue where we get to enjoy the public enjoying our cars while maintaining a private party atmosphere. It's a great event.

I agree with you re LaF. Definitely a corsa car. 458 wears any livery well :)

Color is as everyone knows is a matter of personal taste. One person's favorite color is another one's worst. To each his or hers own. That is why there are so many different cars for sale. Passion goes along with automobiles. If everyone thought of cars like washing machines there would be a lot less to choose from.

Ferrari did a great marketing job with RED. It made a statement that buyers wanted and it has continued to sell it. It seems prior to the V8 series red was not as predominate but with the magnum 308 it started to become the color of choice. As to my preference there was no other color combo to have but the Red/Tan version. To me it makes the cars lines stand out and that's why I believe all of their super cars were done mostly in Red. No offence but I don't usually give a second look to any exotic in gray , silver and white. They just don't make the car "pop". Yellow is another good looker and even some in black. It just seems natural that a Ferrari should be Red/tan just like a Jaguar should be BRG/Biscuit. My 2 cents

I'm in process of trying to buy my first Ferrari and I am looking at trying to find a 348. I like blue color the best, followed by red. I would be happy with either the blue or the red.

That is a Ferrari color, you are correct. Canna di fuca one the other hand, isn't. Fuca non è neanche una parola in italiano.

The past few years it seems as if white has taken a big chunk of shipped cars.

Could be wrong and going off what's on the web but hey. Not that I'm complaining. The pearl white Bianco Fuji? is gorgeous.

I think there are a few sides to this. There are MANY Rosso Corsa colours. I don't like the current PPG. It seems too "flat" somehow. Not talking about whether it's gloss or matt, nore a depth kind of thing, I love the Glasurit FER300/6 RC. It was seen on a lot of 308's and Testa Rossa's. It also resembles a lot of the RC colours used on the 250's, 275's and some older Alfas. However, the Glasurit FER300/12 seen on a lot of F40's, don't do it, as it seems too dark and murky. The tone of the current RC combined with the somewhat fluent and organic shapes of the current models, don't mix for me. I think it completely hides the shape and lines of the current line-up. It's the worst on the GT's. They look bloated and fat in RC. Luckily, everyone can buy what they want;) I think the Cali looks awesome in Verde British, and the FF looks the best in Rubino Micalizzato. The F12 is stunning in Bianco Fuji, and the 458 is amazing in Giallo Tristrato.

    Flame away:D

Verde on the FF seems sharp from the one example I've seen online. Just googled Verde cali. No thanks.

Frankly, whatever color one chooses to apply to THEIR car does not concern me.

MINE, however, will be RC, RC or possibly RC.

Prefer black interior, but tan will work.

    Pretty easy...

i do not buy new cars. i am glad other people do so that there will be used cars for me, but i dont buy new, so i dont get to choose the color.

i did not want a red 4 seater, but there are not that many anyway.

but for all the other cars i have, the color was a very secondary issue - i just bought the best car i could find, and they happened to be red. i can appreciate the other colors and think many of them are handsome. but other than stupid choices (pink, green, purple etc) i can live with just about any color in the ferrari spectrum.

I have never understood this thing about resale when it comes to Ferrari. I always thought if someone can afford a Ferrari the last thing you would worry about is resale value. I can understand if someone has limited means resale value would be very Important. But those type of people are buying Toyotas or Hondas, not Ferraris.

I personally don't care about the colour, as long as I like the car.

Both my 550 & my TR are Rosso Corsa but my 1st choice would have been Grigio Titanium on the 550, I flipping love that combo!

That being said, I've just bought a black 575 F1, now that does look bloody sexy!!! Black with lots of carbon, including the carbon racing seats hmmmmmm

Agree with this. Ferraris are supposed to be in-your-face cars.

But, as Robb posted earlier, I think it depends on the car's lines. A 308 or F40... red all the way. A 550? I'd take something subtler.
