Ridiculous. This is all about killing Red Bull's advantage to ensure a close championship. There's been blatant manipulation before, but none quite so egregious.

When Red Bull turns out to -still- have the advantage, then what? Regulations requiring all blue cars to compete on 3 tires, as tires are movable aero devices?

Same reaction occurred when MS and Ferrari were dominant...

None quite so egregious? What about the ban on Renault's mass damper system in 2006? Renault was the ONLY team running that system, it was an integral part of the car's suspension design, and the ban had a large negative impact on Renault's performance only, at a time when Alonso was leading the championship. I'd say that was even more blatant, as it was only Renault affected, unlike the blown diffusers where Renault and Red Bull and Mercedes and McLaren and Ferrari are all using them with varying success.

Red Bull will not be able to run quite as much rake meaning their front wing will not appear to be flexing as much, if at all. Red Bull's advantage will be gone, at least during qualifying.

As for 2012, we will either see a lot of Mclaren copies or evolutions of this year's models without any clever exhausts of course.

I'm anti RedBull and pro McLaren, but nonetheless I don't like rule changes mid season which inhibit innovation and design brilliance.

I'd rather the FIA told RedBull they had to disclose the concept of what they're doing and then the others can work out how to actually implement it, perhaps making some of that technology available to the poorer teams.

There will always be someone who has a great design or innovation and puts them ahead of the field, we've seen it with Brawn, Ferrari, McLaren, Renault, Bennetton...the list is endless.

Using the engine as a movable aero device.. yea that's illegal. I wish they'd open up possibilities on the mechanical side like active dampers. The focus on aero is at a ridiculous level when start using engine maps for maximum downforce instead of power or drivability or fuel consumption.

Why don't you save a step an require Red Bull to Build the other teams cars???

Good grief... can't have anyone using their brains to win... can't have any losers.

Might as will give every team a WCC trophy just for showing up,... An each driver a WCC cup as long as they are able to don their driving suit (mommy's help allowed)

Is this F1 or some pee-wee league.

the nanny state mentality reaches F1...

What's the bet that if Lotus, Virgin, or HRT had done this instead and were in Red Bull's position there wouldn't be a problem. Same thing happened with Brawn. All for the show...
