RedBull and traction control

I feel like RedBull is getting all the attention, but Sauber figured out something overnight in Korea that gave them a similar performance boost, be it traction control or not

 

Yes. Agreed.

 

2014 will certainly be interesting to see the rules change to accommodate the new cars. Not sure if the FIA will let them do "boost by gear" which is a cheap but effective way to control traction. Can't wait to see the new technology that will get put to use, or more so, improving on older designs.m

 

Apparently you don't need to be running a Renault to make it work.

 

This is nothing new!

Ferrari were running pre-emptive engine maps that replicated traction control way back in 2001! ( Mosley steps in to allay traction control fears - F1 news - AUTOSPORT.com ).

The loop hole that allowed such engine mapping was supposed to have been closed but it appears that Renault have cleverly found a legal way to allow it again!

 

It is hard for me to believe that Vettels RB can be 30 seconds ahead of everyone else. Something seems fishy to me regarding his car.

 

We should acknowledge that when Webber is running in fresh air he manages to do good lap times, maybe not as good as Vettel´s but not so terrible to finish 30s back, so it´s not only a Vettel´s car thing.

But for me is obvious that the Red Bull sounds like if it´s misfiring, so I suppose they´re doing something with that engine.

I don't know if it's legal or not but there is something going on. The Red Bull sounds different that any other car.
