It took a few days before they got back to me so there's still a good chance you'll get the call.

Just got some insight from someone who's been there (and I trust their judgment) that this may not be a healthy event for my car. Too many non-car people that may not respect the cars. Just not worth the risk. So, I'm out.

    Monte,

I was getting ready to drop off the application and fee this afternoon, but it looks like everyone is bagging the event due to fears over the environment. When I put on an event, such as the Joe Gibbs gathering, I know there will be people attending who don't exercise the best judgment. That's why I and others stay with the cars even if the owners leave to attend some other piece of the event. That helps to provide that piece of mind I know I'd want when attending an event with a large crowd. I definitely value your opinion and those on the forum who've attended the Skins event in the past, so I guess I'm out as well. If I end up going I'll simply attend as a spectator. :)

I'd like to find a place where we could have breakfast and watch the F1 race live on Speed TV.

Summer's Sports Bar in Arlington. They show all F1 races live and serve breakfast to boot. I often go with some of my friends. Usually 5-10 people there for F1 and about 100 for Premier League Soccer.

Jung- What would you say the parking situation would be like for a group of exotics during the F1 race?

If this is the Summers at Courthouse, then its street parking - you're SOL as far as exotic parking is concerned.

DoNut DoNut DoNut DoNut - THIS SUNDAY!

I'm bagging the Skins - even though neither the TR or 360 made the cut.

Wrong. Summers has a huge free parking lot that is always empty when I go. I've driven my Ferrari and Lotus before and never had any issues. I think it would be easy for a group of exotics to park there.

Are we talking about the same place? Summers at the corner of N Courthouse and Wilson? If we are, there must be some parking lot I don't know about - where is the lot? My wife used to work at the building across the street and I'm pretty certain there wasn't a lot next to the restaurant.

Now if we are talking about different restaurants, that's a different story.

Any way to lock this down? This place sounds perfect if the parking works out.

I looked at this online and it doesn't look like any parking lots to this restaurant but it sounds like there is a deck across the street which would be OK with me if it's a safe deck. I just don't know the area.

Yup, Courthouse and Wilson. They definitely have a parking lot next to the building... it's a whole 30 second walk.

I've just been accepted to show my car on Sunday. 1989 Mondial T. I guess someone loves Mondials. Is anyone else going to show on Sunday? What's the story?

Works for me. I may end up parking in one of the parking decks across the street if they're open just to get out of the sun....you know those soft 355 interiors. Looks like they open at 8AM so just in time for the start.

Ok - you're talking about the Courthouse parking lot. You had me thinking Summers had a dedicated parking lot.

Edit: For those that don't know, this is a public parking lot for the Arlington Courthouse
