Reduce Search Frequency Limitation for Subscribers

    Apologies if this has been discussed.

    For subscribers, can Rob or the admins reduce or eliminate the search frequency restriction? Nothing is more frustrating when doing research (say, on light bulb type - need to check 1157, 1156, 1073, 1034, 67, H3, H4 etc) and having to wait 30 seconds in between.

    I don't think a subscriber is going to bring down the board with a few back-to-back searches!

    Searches do put a load on the server, and some... quite significant. For non-subscribers and lurkers, keeping the option to have it open isn't a bad thing at all. Other alternatives to limited searches would be:
    - common searches displayed
    - last ten searches displayed
    - when searching, before actually searching, another page displays giving topics to a particular car/model/question.
    - when displaying search results, displaying by a rating of a thread - which could add value for rebuilds, etc. in the technical forum.

    Other than that, I don't believe limiting the amount of searches, or not-limiting rather, would gain particular value.
