Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with the reflective leather and wondering if it looks different or feels different? Thinking about getting a California with black seats and was considering it. Pictures would be appreciated. Is it a coating or how does it work?

My 8C Spider has reflective leather, it doesn't look or feel any different to me. I'm not quite sure whether it's a coating put on the leather (meaning it can wear out in time) or if it's a treatment of the leather itself. I have attached a pic.

I first tried it a few years ago, when it still was being developed, at the Fiat research center, and was immediately sold. They had a steering wheel, half normal leather, half reflective, with two big halogen lights pointed at it. The normal part was scorching hot, the reflective part was just warm.

If solar energy is absorbed by ordinary materials, it is converted into heat. Black leather will absorb all of the sun's radiations and will radiate it back fully.

Reflective leather is made with a top layer of transparent pigment which will let the heat pass through to a special reflective coating underneath that will reflect the heat.

No absorption and thus no heat build-up.
