I just got done rebooting the CV shafts on my F430 and noticed that the heat shields are showing signs of aging. They look to be made of fiberglass. I wonder if there is a way to easily refurbish these before I drop some coin on new ones. Thanks!

Some high heat spray paint will make them look new.

GogglesPisano and 360+Volt=Prius those look great. GogglePisano, where did you get your wrap from and how did you attach it to the shields?

I used this for the wrap: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09M3SRGKL/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

And I used fiberglass epoxy resin to adhere it to the shields. However, I didn't saturate the face layer as I wanted to keep the dry look of the cloth since it was nice. What I did was lay down a layer of resin only on the shield itself until it was tacky and then laid the fabric on top. However, I did saturate the underside as you would typically with fiberglass.

Don't remember name of it. Your local jegs or parts shop should have it or something identical. Gud Luk.

If you search "embossed heat shield" on Amazon, a number of similar options pull up.

I did mine a few years back a put the Por-15 high temp paint on. Which needs to be baked
    https://por15.com/products/high-temp?utm_source=google&campaign_id=18079280352&ad_id=&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=&utm_content=&utm_term=&gclid=CjwKCAjwt-OwBhBnEiwAgwzrUpY8C22JwOpPqsilxU_3dqA3IEhUriGXHi6l7cU6s4BAtVEZqME9vxoCaBkQAvD_BwE&utm_term=&ad_group_name=&tw_source=google&tw_adid=&tw_campaign=18079280352&gad_source=1
POR-15 High Temp reaches maximum hardness after heat exposure above 300°F (150°C) for 15 minutes and then allowed to cool down. If you don't bake it, it is extremely fragile and will show fingerprints if touched.

You can see some cracks from the JB weld high heat epoxy repair.

Has anyone noticed the studs (item 17) have different threads on the nut side and the transmission side?

I recently bought some and discovered my standard M6 nuts only fit one side! Happens to be the same side that fits the transmission. So they must be unusual "Ferrari" nuts. I ordered some from FerrParts. We'll see how it goes.

@67bmer no, did not notice. I did keep the two sides separate though as far as hardware. Interestingly, mine had a washer between the transmission and the bracket for each one of the studs, in addition to the washers between the nut and the bracket. Did not see such washer on the part diagrams for the car. And some studs had one, some had two washers between the bracket and the nut. Who knows....I guess that's what comes with handmade ;-)
