    These are no longer matte.
    The cleaning wax took all the rubber off from the R, Auto and LC buttons and have a very clean look.
    Just the Open button remains matte after application.

    Did the removal require a lot of elbow grease as I have learned with other parts?

    You might remove it all, for a perfect finish, I guess.
    But I did not remove anything. Elbow grease was minimal :)
