The World Motor Sport Council has approved all the regulation changes proposed by the Formula One Commission earlier this month. The approval means this weekend's French Grand Prix will get a revamped qualifying system, with the final part of the session now five minutes shorter. Instead of the usual 20 minutes, the final shootout will last just 15. The WMSC decision also means third cars will be outlawed next season, paving the way for a revamp of the Grand Prix weekend. Carol Also DC set to sign on again with Red Bull AND A world council statement said:" "Due to a significant increase in cornering speeds in Formula One this season, the World Motor Sport Council agreed to consult with the Formula One technical working group regarding possible measures to slow the cars."
Teflon DC dodges another bullet. Maybe he is made out of steel after all? Or is Scotland such a big potential market for RedBull consumption?
yeah....use renault 1.6 litres engines. slow, safe, and enviromental friendly...and oh yea...it cut costs as well. a whole race can be done with U$ 20....this is all bullsh!t....does FIA even realise that it was their blunder to switch V10s to V8s and thus makes cornering faster, less overtaking, and more boring races? so much for cutting cost...
i'm positive about that. i think DC has proven to be a good team leader. even the team principle consults him when making certain calls.
DC has a pretty large fan base. By all accounts, he is charming and quite a character in person. Plus, he drags hot chicks from crashed airplanes, etc. - makes for a good marketing sale. The problem with F1 is that they are going down the path of creating cars that are just not intimidating in light of current fitness opportunities and safety measures. People watched Can-Am, F1 of yore, and Killer Bs for a reason. For Bernie and Co. though this is an unnecessary risk as it's all about the $$$, which is quite good now.
Why dont they just make it Go kart racing and call it a day... this is supposed to be F-1! for me F-1 died back in 1995 - maybe 2000... ever since groved tires, v-10 engines mandated aero ... there is no real innovation any more. its all stuff that you will most likely never really see in a road car... baring computers, or semi auto transmissions.
