    Hi,

I'm researching the 348 market before buying.

How much of a price premium do the following command over the basic 1st series?
    - base 89/90 1st series TB/TS
    - 91 (some upgrades) TB/TS
    - 92 (all upgrades) TB/TS
    - 93 onwards Spyder
    - 93 onwards Euro GTB / GTS (or USA SS)
    - 93 GTC

Are individually upgraded early 89/90 cars worth any extra over non upgraded cars?

And what about the impact of mileage? Are these cars typically prone to rapid wear of major components with increasing miles?

I would guess that a very well maintained 100.000Km car is to be preferred over a less well maintained car with half the mileage, right? Or do higher miles necessarily mean that big bills (gearbox rebuild, etc.) are around the corner (if not already done)?

I would guess that a beautiful early 89/90 example is to be preferred over a so-so 92 example, right?

    Thanks

I bought my car, an '89, based on a few things. Keep in mind I'm not a super DIY kind of guy -

    Recent major
Good PPI by a well-known mech
Interesting history (saw it in Forza and fell in love 3 years before I bought it)
All the "right" upgrades, including challenge wheels, Tubi, Speciale updates, rebuilt gearbox, etc.
Full luggage set and tool kit
Stack of records 20 years long

I paid more for my '89 than most pay for '94s. That's not bragging, either -- it's an illustration of my belief that any year or version can be a gem or a dog, it just depends. I wouldn't worry so much about the premiums among different iterations -- focus on finding the car that really does it for you, then make sure she's good to go. If rarity is important, try to find a factory challenge!

The most expensive one is the Gtc.
Gtb/Gts are the next in line because of their rarity. I think they will become very collectible in the future.
Afterwards, I think it comes down to personal preference.
I prefer the very first Tb's, because they have the double clutch and some particularities as the red front firewall, only one exhaust heatshield, non cat, etc.
But in the end, service history, mechanical condition, original paint, ... Are probably more important then the model year.
