Hi.I have had problems with the magnetic solenoid on the gas door on my 98 355F1. I have changed the solenoid two times, and now it is broken again. I suspect thar it is the relay that is the problem and have tried to order a new one from Eurospares, but they need the part number. Can someone help me with that? I also have problems with downshifting on the car and suspect that this could have something to do with that speedo isn't working quite well all the time. I have ordered a new sensor and hope thar this will cure both problems. Thankful for answers. Ola, Trondheim, Norway

The relay is a regular Bosch 0332019103. It's relay "O" in the passenger footwell. i.e. position "E9" on the 5.2 car.

Can you hear the solenoid clicking or is it completely dead? Do you always have your ignition turned on? Why don't you try swapping the filler release relay with another relay (e.g. one of the fan relays (Q & R) at positions E9 & E11?

Do you have any warning lights for your F1 or other systems? Generally, you will have other warnings if your speed sensor is bad.

Thank you! The pin in the solenoid is stuck so I’ll have to change but this time I also would change the relay, as I have burned it to times. I always have the ignition turned on when I use it. I have no warning light regarding the F1 gear, but the «slow down» light blinked for a while, but not anymore. I maybe thought that the problem with the soeedo sensor could affect the downshifting. (so you not can downshift at «wrong speed») I shall have a major service soon so I’lll have the workshoop look at it. Thank you. Ola
