I'm up in Charlotte looking around at houses and will be relocating here next month. What would you say are good areas to look at and good areas to avoid. I'm going to look at a house in Kannapolis but I've heard some say it isn't a good area. I'll be working at the junction of 77 and Harris and a decently short commute would be nice, so I'm not really interested in the areas south of uptown. We've also been looking in Huntersville and in the V between 85 and 77. If you guys have any feedback, let me know. Thank you very much.

    Regards,
    Eric

if you are in town Sat 5th Feb you should come to the Charlotte cars and coffee, plenty of people will have views of Charlotte and the surrounding areas.

If you want something on the south end of town, look just across the state line in SC. The taxes are less and the traffic is much better. If you have kids, specifically look in the Fort Mill area. They have the best school district in the entire state of SC and its also the best one in the Charlotte metro area. Lot's of newer developments and large acre homes going up all over. Travel to the airport is easy and fast (if you travel a lot).

If you have a F car and want to take some great 'drives', I have a bunch of routes created and can share with you. PM me if you want to follow along sometime.

There's also a local F club (CAFE, Charlotte Area Ferrari Enthusiasts) that meets every month. I just joined.

Welcome to Charlotte. Great town, you'll love it.

One more thing. If you're not happy with that real estate agent you're working with, I have a friend that is well established and very good. He's handled a lot of friend's stuff as well as corporate relocations. Again, if you want, PM me and I'll connect you.

Unfortunately, I picked up the Flu this past weekend and we had to head home early. I'm waiting for a response on one house, but we only got to look at two before we had to bail. We're gonna come back up this next weekend, maybe we'll swing by the Cars and Coffee.

If you wish another realestate agent in the Huntersville area my son in law could help you.
Huntersville is about 5 miles north of the I-77/Harris Blvd area. It is a nice area and just below Lake Norman with better schools. Many of your NASCAR people live in that area.

We're actually trying to rent a house for about a year and figure out what we both want to do as far as going back to school and what not. If we decide to stay in Charlotte, then I'll definitely contact you about a mortgage. Thanks!

I just moved here about 6 months ago. I wouldn't suggest the area I live in. I think its west charlotte but I'm not sure. I'm close to north tryvon. Schools are crap(if you have kids). Your hearing this from a 17 year old.

I am in the process of buying a house in the Highland Creek area. I don't have kids yet, so schools are a priority only in the sense of resale. Now I get to spend the next month in temp living, yay, haha.

I will definitely come out to the March Cars and Coffee.
