While idling the 308 for about 15 miutes, the yellow cold engine light went off at which time the engine stopped and would not start. Any ideas?

Can you tell us what vintage 308?

I have a QV and I'm not aware of a yellow cold engine light.

If you start your car and the alternator light comes on, you'll want to tap the throttle after about a minute to ensure the car is running off the alternator, otherwise, it's getting juice straight from the battery.

The 308 I'm working with is a 1981 GTSi. Along with the engine stopping after the cold engine light goes off it would'nt start when hot. I've since disconnected the plug from the warm up and control pressure regulator and the car now starts right away cold or hot. I have a feeling it was somehow offering to much fuel and combined with the auxilliary starting jet in the plenum was flooding the throttle body. Perhaps there is a diaphram in the warm up reg that may be perforated??? Still a work in progress!
