Not much left of this one. FERRARI 400 BODY SHELL FERRARI 400 AUTOMATIC VEHICLE REMAINS / F400 CHASSIS | eBay I know parts from this car have been reused to keep other Fchatters' cars going over the years. It has been at that breakers' yard since before May 2007. Suffered an engine fire which also scorched the interior.
Good day All, Just adding pics... alas... a horrible end to this machine... Does anyone know the Chassis Number? It's probably 26431. Here's another from the same yard. This is most likely 43375, an ex-Maranello Concessionaires demonstrator that was side-swiped nearly 10 years ago. FERRARI 400 BODY SHELL FERRARI 400 AUTOMATIC VEHICLE REMAINS / F400 CHASSIS #2 | eBay
Too bad they aren't in US near me, there are lots of little parts I could use. Sadly, junk yards here don't save the shells or more than 5 years and then crush them. All of those nuts and bolts parts are all wasted. That truly is a shame.
We just bought car #2 It was too cheap to resist. The chassis and suspension are great for making specials.
Good day to all, a short update on car #1. The remains of this car are currently being dismantled in Germany. I confirm it is 26431. No parts will be lost which are still recognizable as car parts, even if in some cases they barely serve for the purpose of reference. One detail I noticed and found worthwhile to communicate: The fuel tanks are subject to incision as they rub against the weld-on hose hangers at the wheelhouse rear wall. The photo shows the right-side tank front facing the wheelhouse. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I´ll check mine as well. Didn´t know if this was a known one but I thought it is such a hidden safety issue that it might pass unnoticed. In comparison I noticed that on a later series 1 400i there were additional layers of insulating felt strips beneath the tanks. By this, there might be less risk for the tanks to develop slack.
