Can anyone make this part? It is the guide on my sun roof the driver side is missing and I noticed this is cracked. So I need two. Any idea of where I can get them or if some one could make them?

Also should there be a peice on this that fits in the pully on the flat peice on the back of the sunroof. I noticed a small round peice laying in the back I haven't gotten it out yet does it being here?

My experience seals and gaskets are not expensive at the F dealer. I just bought a new rear window rubber for 150 USD at the dealer. I would get it there and at the same time see if they have the other part as well. You can always decide not to take it after knowing the price :) but then you have at least the part number.

I am told the sunroof seal on my 89 t is the same as the BMW e28 ( 5 series). I am guessing same for the earlier models.

I believe this stuff hasn't changed since the first Gen Mondials. When I look at the parts they all mention QV, 3.2 and T. The 8 simply has no partnumber list available online so it is not that list. I have no idea if BMW has the same. Look and compare :)

    .

I read in some forums that a few European cars of that era shared the same sunroof mechanisms.
    ie. BMW, MB, Ferrari, etc.,

I have not vouched the info, so don't take it as gospel.

I can do that. Slide sunroof open all the way. Remove the two tiny screws in the rails at the front. Pull rails out. Pull sunroof forward until the front feet are in the section that is cut out on both sides where the rails were. Soon as you get to that area pull upward and towards you. The roof will come out. There is one nut holding the mech in. Take that nut out and remove the slide. Then take the rest out carefully not to break the parts on the ends. I also need the cable car the plastic peice that is on the end of the cable that slides the roof back and forth.

I could also use the outer seal that is on the sunroof itself if you have that as well.

I no longer need sunroof parts. I purchased the parts I needed at a astronomical price. There is a guy in Belguim Redbaycars.com if anyone needs reasonable parts he is the guy. Contact him if you do t see what you need and he most likely will have it.

OK - shout out to Dan Noble (see link in post 21 above) with assistance from FerrariChatter, wilkrod. I had several issues with my sunroof and needed numerous replacement parts including the three guides on the edges, the end pieces for the swivel (post #18 above), the top plastic guide that goes on the piece with the cable (post #2 above), etc. etc. After a user error on my part required a repaint of the sunroof, I sourced a bunch of new parts from Dan and finally got it installed this weekend. For me, the hardest part was getting the aluminum "wings" on the back of the roof to slide into the guides. In any case, from what I can see from the Etsy listing, they have all the parts I needed and pretty much every part for the sunroof (except the motor/cable stuff). Some of the parts have been upgraded with better/stronger plastics and better designs. So overall, a good resource and very helpful vendor which is appreciated when you are dealing with something as finicky as the sunroof.
