First of all we have seen the pics and it IS NOT a ''total loss'', although I'm sure the Insurance company might want to argue that as the fastest way out.

It needs a new tub, and a door.

    No big deal.....

Pretty chicken sheeit IMO of the FBI to say it was part of an 'ongoing investigation' when the whole point was to GET the CAR back to it's "then legal" owner....(the insurance company)

Show some integrity and pay them....

That's easy. Because our government is run by lawyers. Lawyers = single biggest problem this country faces.

The tub has significant damage. It's not a case of simply straightening the chassis.

    Guess what?

No matter who we elect, nothing changes.

Not a statement of apathy, but once you get elected to the 'old boys club', you would never EVER want to stop those perks that come to you. EVER.

Just heard on the radio that the judge ruled the FBI could not be sued for damages that occurred when the F50 was in their possesion and dismissed the insurance co's lawsuit

Of course, if you were wrongly accused of a crime, then you'd say that lawyers are the most important protectors of your freedom on the planet.

We have a lot of problems in this country, but lawyers are hardly the biggest.

I'd start with the 49% of the population that is paying ZERO in income taxes.

Indeed. Think it might be an inconsistent standard of honor among the current lot of folks, in general.

I was always made to believe that the single biggest problem this country faced was classic car brokers :) which goes to show that there is never any consistency with random proclamations...

They should just recover the scraps and return it to the Factory, for reconstruction.

They have suffered a loss, it's true, but it's not a total loss, fix it and "go on with life".....

It's pretty common here for all levels of government to be indemnified in the course of performing their normal duties.

They have to beat someone to death, or kill them with tasers, to really raise an eyebrow.

Suing them 'for property loss' is always an uphill battle all the way.

This case is only unusual in that a plaintiff could argue they WERE NOT 'in the course of operations" as the car really was being driven frivolously, IMO.

So to answer your question: "There is none."
They can only lick their wounds and move on.
At least it's a large company insuring the car it will not hurt them much.

This was a "Hail Mary" play to start with.

Until we hold idiots accountable for their actions (especially federal agents) and government agencies we cannot and should not hold any civilians responsible either. That FBI agent should be fired. Period.

Im not the one that needs help. Your probably part of the 'good ol boy' club aren't you?

The insurance company shouldn't have granted permission for the FBI to hold the car or if they did they should have restricted it being driven.
