2003 FERRARI 575M F1 COUPE (Australian Delivered) represents Ferrari's first adaptation of its F1 six-speed electrohydraulic transmission-control system to a front-engine chassis. The staccato sounds from the exhaust bursts into what can only sound like a Ferrari. Presented in a most unique colour combination of Arancio Atlas with Black leather and Orange inserts. Original colour was Metallic White. The 575 was commissioned by the first owner to be painted in the Lamborghini orange by the Ferrari Factory. Only Orange 575M in the world. Travelled 30,805 kilometres and comes with full books, service history and spare key.

Image Unavailable, Please Login Well I have known this 575 from the very first day it was delivered to the 1st owner. At first I was stunned as it rolled off the transporter. (I was at the dealership collecting my 355 for a service). After the initial shock the colour grew on me and the more I looked at it the more I liked it.

Imagine my surprise that a few days later I again encountered the 575 just around the corner from my home. The then owner had about 13 or 14 Ferraris and other than the occasional "nod" as we passed by each others in our Ferraris I never had any contact with the new owner or the outrageous 575.

Over the years I followed the ownership of this "unusual" coloured 575. I already have owned both a 550 and a 575 in red but always lusted after this particular 575. I should say one has to see it in the flesh to fully appreciate the car. (Due to the metallic paint no two photos ever look the same or give a true indication of the actual colour).

At last after many years I saw the car was again for sale. Clearly the 575 would not suit Chubacabra but like most things it is a personal choice and it wouldn't be good if we all liked the same thing. I probably would not like Chuba's choice of drum kit or "cow bell". But hey that's drummers for you. lol.

I recently bought the Orange car, (much to the disgust of my red 575 and others in my stable) but hey do I care what others think? Nup I don't give a "Rats Ass". I'm digging the Orange 575 and dare I say one of the most enjoyable Ferrari's I own.

Unfortunately the last owner made some modifications to the seat inserts (orange) and other small changes etc that were not to my taste. But hey that's ok as I said each to your own taste.

I am currently restoring the 575 to the original spec as it left the factory and have replaced the orange seat inserts with the original trim kit, the original radio will be installed and I will soon add the optional 19" modular wheels to replace the current Novitec wheels. So it will soon be back to the original condition/specification and exactly as the first time I saw it.
Regardless of what others think of the Orange beast it has now found a new forever home.

Thanks Ralf, IMO the 550/575 is one of the best front engined 12 cylinder cars produced around that time. It still holds its own today against many current models. Other road users certainly can see me coming (and going) in this orange beauty! However my ever patient wife has to put on her sunglasses every time she walks past it. She has suggested I have my eyesight checked in case I’m colour blind! Lol.

Jimi- I like it, but then again I had a Rosso Dino, Dino 246 GT. The photos look like Rosso Dino since you cannot see the metallic component too well in photos. Maybe Rosso Dino is a bit redder.

There is a good market for those Novitec NF2s, so you should recoup part of your investment in the 19" modulars. 456 owners love them and that is where my set went.

Hey Terry good to hear from you. I still have the carbon fibre steering wheel I purchased from you for my red 575 many years ago. Yes I remember seeing a pic of your Dino, didn't you also have a Daytona or is my memory totally fried?

Yes I will consider parting with the Novitec's but I also have two sets of original 575 wheels which suit the 456/550 (18" I think?) perfectly. So yes maybe a good idea to part with any of those sets to help"off set" the cost of the 19" modulars which I really like (having had them on the red 575). However I do like the 19" Novitec's style and had planned to keep them for a set of track day tires. But thinking about it some more, space is the problem I have storing multiple sets of spare wheels and tires. So maybe a good idea to sell them on to another enthusiast who will get more use from the Novitec's. Thanks for the suggestion Terry! The 575 original 18" wheels including the 19" Novitec's really suit the 456 and the 550 in my opinion so maybe I should let them go? What is a fair price to ask?

Jimi- The Novitecs are really too heavy for track wheels. You would be better off with the 18" wheels for track time. They weigh quite a bit less. Chris at Exoticar has 19" modular repros for about $7000 or so a set. Look just like the originals. Might be a good alternative.

If you don't like USA Gretsch, Sonors old and new, or Tama Star bubingas, no, you wouldn't...and I don't use a cowbell :)

To clarify - I don't hate it, I just may not chose to own it. I could also have a similar reaction to you if I were to see it in person. Regardless, I'm glad you are able to own and enjoy a car you have been seeking! There are no wrong answers in this particular corner of the automotive world.
