Happened to stumble on the original ROCKY on Stars! the other night. Almost forgot how DAMN good that movie was and how good Stallone was as a writer and actor.. Too bad that talent seems to have waned into Driven... and other things like that.

Copland was his best work in 10 years.

And he does have an Oscar with his name on it I just wish he would hit one out of the park again....

I agree, although i was only 9 when the film was released! It left a lasting impression on a small boy ;-) . I thought First Blood was a great Stallone film too.

    NOTHING IS OVER!
Just saw that one last night...

So many things in that movie seem like cliché's now but they were just copied so many times....

I caught it the other night also - Gotta love it.

I agree that the Rambo movies were classic also (1&2 at least). :)

    Lol,
On a trip to South America after the US started pounding Iraq, my driver commented
“Why don’t you guys just send in your Rambo to find Sadam and end this war!”
What amused me (or struck me) was that this guy was SERIOUS! He was convinced that Rambo was based on a real life person.

Hats off to Hollywood for making us such a Bad A$$ nation.

Now, if Stallone would anly make a sequel to Rambo where he goes after Clinton to avenge our boys in Somalia…hummm…

Few people remember that John Rambo didn't kill a single person in the original Rambo movie. Closest he came to it was throwing a rock in self-defense toward a helicopter.

First Blood was as much a political statement against the negative treatment of Vietnam Veterans as it was anything else. Anybody who says otherwise has obviously not seen the movie recently and just meshes it in with Rambo 2, 3 and other Stallone movies.

One of the funniest lines fromt he Rocky movies is when he is asking Adrian to marry him in front of the Tiger cage at the zoo. I think it goes something like this if I remember correctly.

"I was wondering if you aint doing nothing for the next 30 or 40 years if you wouldnt mind marryin me to much."

    It's funny as hell.

I loved this GTA Radio commercial spoofing Rambo. Anyone have the sound file for this one?

    Speaker: The Exploder Survival Knife
    (Explosions and dramatic music)

Speaker: It's the knife that saved America. If you liked the film Exploder (Rambo reference),
you'll love this enormous commemorative survival knife. In the handle
you'll find all the things you'll need in any wilderness, disaster
situation or jungle of your backyard. It comes complete with fishing
line, needle and thread for sewing gashes back together. And an
    incredibly useful endurable toothpick

Ho Chi (strong Asian accent): Tim, go on wifout me. I've got toffee stuck in toof.

Tim (Rambo impersonator): It's okay Ho Chi, try this!

Speaker: For those unplanned extended stays in the jungle, there’s a saw for
building your own hut, toilet paper and a fold out woman for company.
As well as a serrated blade that can kill a man before he can scream.

    Soldier: Umpfff…

Tim (cleaning knife on leg): That'll shut you up!

Speaker: The Exploder survival knife. It's the knife that saved America. Now it
    can save you.

Other: This knife killed 25,000 people in Cambodia. Now you can too.

That reminded me of Rocky IV when he fought the Russian...

"In here there were two guys killing each other, but I guess that's better than 20 million. What I'm trying to say is that if I can change and you can change, everybody can change..."
