Do you? It seems more and more we have topics that have nothing do with cars, or very little. A lot of this stuff needs to be moved to the Off Topic section.

I think a Regional activities section and Off Topic section makes sense as well.

There's 7 active threads total in the section today.

    There were 8 yesterday.

    8 on the 5th, 2 on the 4th and 3 on the 3rd.

I don't think we're at a critical point yet. If it does get bad, we could just have an OT thread like the Euros and Brits do.

    So Matt, how's your car?

Car needs new halfshafts. Ick. I'm still driving the car a little, but not much, really need to get those switched out. Need to track down an oil leak too. I think it's coming from the fuel pump area, which should be easy enough to fix.

    I bought a BMW a couple weeks ago. Now, I own 2 BMWs :D

I will turn my new BMW (E30 325es) into a track car & I will sell my current 2002 325i for a 2006 model sometime next year.

Mine has a new metallic rattle. It's been diagnosed as a heat shield vibrating against the frame due to 'sagging motor mounts'

10+ hours labor + 4 mounts @$150 each. I'm thinking I'll be checking out the parts book and workshop manual before I say OK. How hard could it be? ;)

No way to get it done before the Rally, so it'll just be rattly :D

Tillman, is that not something that could be done at home with an engine hoist?

That's what I'm thinking, I need to see how involved it is. I've replaced mounts before in American cars

Tillman....I have done two of the engine mounts on my 308 before. Not a very hard job at all. Matt is right, it easy.

Simply place a board under the oil pan (so you don't damage it with the jack), raise it slightly as you loosen the bolts. slide the mount out, then reverse the proceedure to finish for each one. You may be able to get away with just doing the ones that are deteriorating before the rally. If you need some help, let me know.
