Eugenio Minetti (Milan, 1908-1995) was one of the founder of the Scuderia Ambrosiana of Milan with Cortese, Lurani and Villoresi. His father Enrico was the most important Lancia dealer in Italy since 1911, he was also the first to sell Lancias in the USA, opening a commercial office in the 6th street of New York in late '20s. Eugenio began to race with the Maseratis 4CM (in the pic he is at the Varese circuit in 1938), then with a Lancia Aprilia. After the war he raced also with a Lancia Astura and a Cisitalia D46. His best result is 4th overall at 1947 1000miglia with a Cisitalia 202SMM. President of the Scuderia Ambrosian until 1949, Eugenio was a good golf player, as like as Villoresi, and a pilot too. He was a member of the Italian team attempting to break down the air record from London to Cape Town in 1938. [thanks to Enrico Minetti for the photo]

Unfortunately i don't know the chassis number.
The Scuderia Ambrosiana joined to the 1938 circuito di Varese race with the 6CMs in the photo: #20 Soffietti, #22 Villoresi, #24 Minetti, #28 Carnevali.

The Reggiani's book says Minetti bought 2 6CMs for the Scuderia, #1554 and #1558, but i really don't know which one the #24 is.

Impossible to find out as the cars also were changed from one driver to the other from race to race. Also the two cars in the background are early cars due to their "small" radiator cowl. As we don`t see the nose section of the car Minetta sits on its impossible to verify it as an early or later car. But #1558 was already sold to Argentina in 1938 and was a later car with chassis differences.

I assume on the photo its #1554 Minetti sits on as it has the earlier (smaller) chassis.
