    Hi Jim,

I have sent you an email regarding the book purchase. FAF was the Ferrari/Maserati go to place back in the 70s-80s for sure. Lots of fun visits to get that needed exotic fix.

    Ciao,
    George

I'm sure it's in the book (my copy is flying to Australia as we speak) but what do the letters FAF actually stand for or mean ?

    Mark,

FAF did originally stand for Ferrari, Alfa, Fiat. The Ferrari "F". The Alfa "a," and the Fiat "F"

However, as FAF grew into focusing almost exclusively on Ferrari . . . that expansion of the acronym fell to updates . . . such as Factory Authorized Ferrari.
There were, however, others. Some not fit for print LOL

    Cheers

Yesterday (Aug. 7) marked one month from the date I started shipping copies of THE FERRARI PLACE, and over one-half the 330 books are already accounted for! Everyone's enthusiasm and support for this endeavor has been phenomenal. THANK YOU!

More pizza boxes await their beckon call . . . LOL

I received my copy today, and even though the box was soaked, the book was perfect.

Even though I arrived in Atlanta in 1996 and did not buy a Ferrari until 2004 (on eBay!), I know about 1/3 of the people quoted in the book, and I’m already enjoying their stories. Thanks for publishing the book.

Fortunately, you wrapped it very well!

I have only limited experience with the former FAF, which remained a repair and restoration shop after FoA moved to Roswell.

My mechanic, Ron Reineke, went down to work at Shelton Ferrari in Fort Lauderdale for a spell. During that time, I had the 328 serviced twice on Stephens Court. One was routine, the other was a fix of a pop-up headlight that wouldn’t!

Ironically, Ron’s shop is now right across the street, so I see the old FAF building fairly often.

I came to Atlanta in 94 and moved full-time in 95 right when the transition to FOA was happening. I know lots of the folks as well, and have some fond and not-so-fond memories of the service area. Ron, Wade, and crew. a number of the long-term mechanics were leaving right when I started to service the car there...

I am so delighted by "The Ferrari Place" that I just ordered "Adventures in Ferrari Land" :)

I wished there would be a similar book about the early days of the German Ferrari community. Unfortunately, there are only some bling bling publications by Auto Becker. But at least, "Faszination auf Rädern" by Helmut Becker gives some facile insights into the screne of the 1970s and 1980s with many nice pictures. His second book, "Hommage an einen Mythos", is very bad in every respect.

If you want more of this sort of thing, read this one.

It's both VERY different and the same at the same time. Interesting read.
