    This I don't understand..........

So I'm enlisting the help of my fellow Fchaters.

I have a family member that gave an electric Hummer you sit in and drive to her one year old. Now the kid is 3 and she emails me that she wants me to get him a remote controlled helicopter for his birthday. Frankly, I'm at a loss........ Not that it's not a great gift for a boy, but why this rush to flood this kid with more toys than a house can hold? He's only 3... Seriously, anyone have any experience with this? Anyone know of a remote controlled helicopter built for a 3 year old?

I wonder what I should get him when he turns 5, a car?

I know they make these cheap helos, but I don't think they are built for a 3 year old. Are they? I didn't see anything showing ages.......

She just told you want to get him? Or did you ask what he wanted?

LOL, I never ask.......... I usually get told. But the email said, "Mom said you were asking what to get XXXX for his birthday"... and I was thinking, I never asked my mother what to get him for his birthday....wth?...lol but in fairness to her, she said she was planning on getting it for him and I could if I wanted to. So I replied, "what remote helicopter do you get a 3 year old?", and I haven't gotten a reply....yet.

ahhh to grow up in the 00's (how do you say it? 80's, 90's,..... 00's?)

    What ever happened to Legos?

No idea gas or electric, but I would guess electric...

Kids with too many toys turn into nut jobs when they grow up.

I was a little afraid of this...I was trying to think back to what I had when I was 4, and it included a Lionel electric train and an Erector set. Also a model V2 rocket that ran on vinegar and baking soda.

This is exactly the sort of thing that can lead you to a Ferrari later in life.

BTW, the gas or electric was satirical, but you know what? The gas might actually be safer - you would have to get it started before you could do any damage!

I love the commercials showing 6 year old kids flying these things in the house.

what they don't show is the 45 year old engineer in the room behind the camera that has the controller that actually has the batteries in it!

He is just testing it for a while to make sure it is safe.

Anything with spinning blades or propellers is a bad idea for a 3 year old.

I just went through the same thing this weekend.
My son received a remote helicopter for Xmas from my wifes cousin (who does not have kids).
The box says 'ages 14 and over', my son is 4. He has asked me every weekend since Xmas to play with it.
I give in yesterday bc it was nice here in the northeast.

I let him help me with the remote comtrol the first time we attempted to get it airborn. The thing jumped up 10 feet and immediately soared left and crashed. 3 attempts later, it flies into a tree and gets hung up, and a peice of the tail breaks off.
I talk him into waiting for a less windy day and call it quits.

Definitley not a 3 or 4 year old toy.
