My original remote for my 2003 360 says RK112 on the back. Since I only have one remote, I am looking to buy another to clone. I found one online that says 148-V1 on the back. Is that the same one, same frequency? Will it work? Please advise so I may make my purchase decision.

    Thank you and happy driving!

Look on eBay, there is one on there for $239, or you can order 3 from a dealer for $450-500. It is my understanding Porsche 993 remotes will also work, or can be cloned, one on eBay also.

148-v1 is mentioned here a few times previously and appears to be the current RK112 but may not be...

Sorry to be vague but none of the previous posts seem to confirm success - you may want to double check for yourself

Different territories have their local authorisation on the fob - so US spec fobs now show an FCC ref whereas this one (Item number: 280717077368) appears to show a German authorisation - Euros are 433 & US 315 - therefore if it says FCC it should not be 433 (contrary to remote-superstore's site - I think this has been mentioned before)

I think RK112 is a manufacturer generic part no

Can you have them open the remote and send you a picture of the interior? That would be the best indicator.. to have the frequency and cross reference the IC chip #'s...

Thank you for the info. Sounds like it isn't an easy answer. Might be tough to get the guy to open and send pics since it's just a listing on the internet but I will ask. And sounds like better not to take my chances and just buy. Thanks again!

I did come across one posting on the Australian Ford forum that mentioned they are the same as RK112.. just make sure the frequency matches your car 315mhz= US. Photos of the crystal inside will confirm it.

Thanks again. So here's the pic he sent me. It has a sticker of 148-V1 on back but mine has RK112. Does this pic show enough to confirm whether it will work with my car?!

    Thank you SO much!

There is a thread somewhere here that describes a circular thingy on the board that controls the frequency and says exactly where it is and what the correct code on it is - sorry have to dash out otherwise....

I have cloned a lot of remotes for US guys which had such a sticker (148-V1).
The picture confirms it is a 315 MHz remote (RP 1239 resonator).
