    Ed,
No offense, and I hope you make a million on it, but its ugly (for Ferrari owners). I posted this once before. I got a few tickets (not recently), and what I did was had a friend (owns a Auto Part Store) give me a paid receipt for a front License bracket, and the fine was waived. They give you 24 or 48 hours to cure it. If you don't have a friend that can give you a receipt, all you have to do is purchase the cheapest one and use that receipt as proof. Ticket will be dismissed. Did you patent it? I know a good patent lawyer if your interested. I bet there is some type of market for it (Camaro and Mustang owners!).

Front plates are never pretty. But I think you did a good job. It fits well and serves its purpose. Looks good for what it is.

I'm not trying to market anything here and I agree that it is ugly. You missed my point entirely. I don't want a front plate on my car and I don't plan on driving around with this on either. I made it so that I had something very easy to put on "just in case", without altering or damaging my car in anyway.

I still think the idea is marketable. I know that your not trying to market here. Sorry, but I never intended to sound like that you were trying to make money from it. I really think its quite creative and more then what I came up with. I know that your really trying to have a solution for something that is of some concern to some/all of us. Anyway, you would be surprised to find out that there is a market for it though. I bet that without any real work on your part, you can sell the idea (to a distrubutor), after you patent it. You would be shocked to know that a distributor would pay $$ for the idea. Your "invention" is not an improvement on an already existing idea, its a complete new idea. Thats why it really could work! There's that whole generation of kids customizing Hondas and Toyotas that don't use front plates, and your idea works, especially if you have to park on the street because that's where you usually get the ticket. Just slap on the plate.

Interesting thought, but I don't think that it is a completely new idea. It is more of a miniaturization of the design used on the hitches that are on the back of trucks and SUVs.

Good idea Ed. Now if only we could convince the State of New York to agree to mini-license plates, we could combine your idea with that and all retire early. :D

I would think more a waiver of front plates for antiques & exotics....as long as you can produce the front plate on demand.

    That would certainly simplify things.

Different now days(like last 3-5 yrs). I have never EVER received a no-plate ticket as a fix-it ticket, issued when both parking or moving. It has to be paid always.

It was on my 1997 911 in 1998 (I got the ticket). So, yes it was 6 years ago. Maybe it has changed. Don't know, but I have not gotten a ticket since. Still under the impression its the same. I'll find out this week.

By the way, I know from other threads that your out in the Hamptons. I was out in South Hampton and West Hampton on Sunday with the Family. Did look for your Mondial, but didn't see it or any other Mondials. I did see Snoop Doogy Dog in a 911 Cab. He wasn't with any Girls gone Wild though. Just solo.

You would have had to look for it in my garage in order to see it yesterday. It did make a brief appearance today. I'm not actually "in" the Hamptons, but rather "near" or "on the way" to the Hamptons. I live in Manorville which the real estate people have named the "Gateway to the Hamptons". I do feel like I live there sometimes, since most of my work is there. I had plans to be there myself yesterday, but the weather didn't cooperate for the beach-type agenda we had. The Aquarium in Riverhead turned out to be a nice alternative for the kids followed by some Northfork wine tasting for us older folk.

Taken the kids to the Aquarium in the Winter months. Good way to kill a few hours. Yes. It was chilly yesterday, thats why we took a ride to South Hampton to walk around and do some shopping. I ended up eating in West, because I have 4 kids and with six of us its hard to eat in some of those small restaurants/cafes on a Holiday weekend. Baby Moon accomodates us quite well (no later than 5:00) and the food isn't bad. My wife and I use to go there a lot in our single days, so there is a sentimental feeling about eating there. Foods not bad. Since you live out there are you going to the Italian Fest in October? I'll be there. Saturday events and during the week events work for me because, as you know, there is always something family related/or sports to do on Sundays. So I don't get to do many car events or outings as I would Like to. Lets hope for nice weather.

I'll be at the CIN run in October also.
I haven't been to the Baby Moon in a long time. I wonder if the same people still own it. They were the same family that owns La Parmigiana in Southampton. 2 brothers if I'm not mistaken. I went to High School with the daughters. My memories of that place was grabbing some pizza while going to hear the Greaseband across the street at Wilson's Garage. Early 80's....

I was there in the late 80's. Your probably a couple of years older. My older brother (44) and his friends were out there in the early 80's.
