I have an F1 car that has the actuator knocked loose and has to be reattached. Then the shifting is no longer possible because the shifting rod and the actuator needs to be aligned properly. The WSM calls for an alignment procedure using an SD computer and of course, there isn't one around.

Has anyone been successful at removing and reattaching the F1 shifting actuator without the use of a sophisticated software scanner?

Just re-posting it in hopes it ends up on somebody's radar since threads like this helps the community when they get some answers.

I did once, but is was all aligned. I marked all four corners and pulled it to replace the input shaft seal.

Once knocked of course? I have no idea how to help.

Do you have one to at least compare to?

I am afraid this situation is much different. The car was lowered too much, added to that the sagging engine mounts, and going over a bump, the mounting stud at the bottom of the actuator got knocked and the actuator became crooked. To repair that, the actuator (and the engine mount and a couple of actuators hydraulic lines) have to be removed and remounted. There was no way to mark the positions while it was working. It calls for starting from scratch ...
    1. loosen the actuator and the coupling
    2. Center the shift rod in N between 3-4 gears and hold it there
    3. Center the actuator with the SD computer
    4. Reattach the coupling, and remount the actuator to the engine.

    Step 3 is not possible...
