Removal of crankshaft pulley (360) is easy with the engine in the car. Put the car on a hoist, lock the flywheel with the tool, put a 36mm shallow socket on the bolt from under the car and use some muscle with a breaker bar.

But how to do that with a free standing engine on the floor (not even on the engine stand, which is occupied by another engine)? Transmission not attached. So how to best lock the crankshaft and undo the bolt which holds the pulley? As the bolt is torqued to 196Nm with Locktite, trying to just use muscle will flip the engine (I think) before the bolt is undone. The manual talks about tool AV 3122 (part 95973122) but I can't find much info about it except that's a "Driver Shaft Locking Tool" ;-)

A long L shaped steel beam with holes to hold the crankshaft, locked onto a transmission attaching bolt, with a heavy friend hanging on it? Or is there a simpler way? Impact wrench somehow does not sound right, or should it be used?

    Thanks for any advice.
