    has anyone removed the mesh grill under the engine hood of a 87 testarossa , for the mesh grill on the left rear has a hole in it and i want to replace it . it does look like you can replace it but maybe by removing the top grills , if anyone has performed this please infor me thank you jim

    I did this job just yesterday :D

    This is what I did to remove the whole grille:

    Drill out the six pop rivets hidden under the black sponge of the air intake and remove the air intake plate.
    Remove all the 10mm nuts and washers that you can see on the grill itself
    Cut the clips holding the wire going to the two rear deck light fittings
    Remove the light fittings and secure
    Remove the fibreglass engine cover
    Push, pull and tug the three panels out from the top of the lid, note that these fittings are held in with some form of rubber goo.
    If you need to do any more work on the panels be prepared to drill out some small pop rivets.

    I found the forward bracket completely broken due to a stress fracture one side and cracked on the other.

    The rear panel has two protrusions that holds the top aluminium cover. Both of mine were broken.


    Its no wonder my rear cover always vibrated, i'm off to the welders once I have drilled out a few more rivets :(
