Hi folks, Today Ive started to undertake to rather large task of restoring my 355 Challeng-a-like. After many track days, and been sat in the garage for a year, shes looking very rough. Things havent got off to the best of starts as Im trying to remove the sill skirts that are under the doors and run the length of the sill from front to back. Ive removed the screws from under the car, removed the black metal "Ferrari" kick plate and the screws from there, and the front half is loose. However, Ive having difficulty removing the section that sits just ahead of the rear wheel under the "Pinifarrina" (sp?) badge on the rear quarter. Is it clipped on or what, I dont really want to tug at it, yet I cant seem to find any screws!? Ive searched around the forum too, but all I get back is how to remove the kick plate, and not the fibreglass sill itself. Thanks Dan
I think you are forgetting the 2 screws that are behind the front wheel. In my 348, these were relatively easy to remove. If I remember, once the screws are all off, it slides forward and out.
Two studs with nuts on the back which you need to remove (see first picture). The rear most nut can be accessed via the rear wheel well with the front lining removed. The forward nut is behind the rubber bung in the radiator air deflector. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
