    Any advice will be appreciated...

I'd like to remove the bottom extension of the side skirts. Attached photo: the painted black part of the side skirt. It looks like the part is attached with several screws from the bottom. My question is whether once the screws are removed, the 'black' piece will be detached, easily. It seems to me that the bottom extension is a separate part from the upper (painted yellow) part of the side skirt. If anyone has done it, please advise.

Reason: I need to remove it for cleaning and wrap it with XPEL protective film, then reinstall it.

My original thought is to get the factory CF side skirt with the aero fin. It is now available for the 458. The price, $11,800 plus labor, is a consideration and the entire side skirt changes the look significantly. I am not sure I actually like the new look.

No you can't, the yellow and black parts are only one piece.

Thank you both for the advice. It explains why the Ferarri CF replacement comes in one piece as well. I guess I could wrap it without removing it first but that will make the project much more difficult. May be it's time to consult with a local professional!

I was considering the same thing but I don't think it's a direct bolt on.

Speaking of Xpel, I just watched this video the other night. What do you guys think of this comparison?

The 3M film is impressive. I am changing my project to 3M.
