I believe just pop them in your freezer, like 0 degrees F, put the block in the sun........ Then drop in, don't twist them!
The 308 liners are not as tight as the 400i liners.
(That's why we have "O" rings.)

Note: The "O" rings don't come in aftermarket kits!
Get the Real Ferrari gasket kit from Scott, you will get the "O" rings.

(PS... I love your F car.)
    Good luck,
    Edwardo

You have the motor apart. Youve pulled the heads off, and possibly disturbed a liner seal. Getting the liners out takes minutes, shouldnt take more than 20 minutes for the whole deal. If you dont clean down there and put in new seals, your risking a leak, and only a total tear down will fix it. So do you take the risk, after going through all this work, or spend 20 minutes and do the job correctly?

Also, there tends to be corrosion built up on & around the liners, reducing coolant circulation. With the cylinders out, it can be readily removed. IIRC, Paul Colberg posted some classic pix of the amazing amount of corrosion he found in an engine, one cylinder had almost no water circulation on one side!

It wasnt me, both my engines came apart easily, even my heads lifted off without fuss.
