Hey Guys, I am trying to remove the rear cam cover. The section near the cam gear will lift up. The distributor side is stuck, I removed the breather connection. Yes all the nuts have been removed.
I am thinking about using plastic(marine board) triangle shape wedges to force the cover up.
    What do you Guys think?
    Thanks
    Charles

    First, take a picture.
Second, the rear cover, meaning the 1-4 bank staring you in the face when you look at the engine?

Third, the distributor side is stuck because two of the distributor 3 bolts are actually screwed into the valve cover at the end. Needs to come off.

Did you remove the distributor and end cover? Should come off easily if all the nuts are off.

    Thank you Mitchell and Tim,

Mitchell, When I remove the distributor cap, can I just remove the 2 screws(leave the 3rd screw in) and not remove the distributor?

The distributor on these cars is just a rotor arm secured to the end of the camshaft - there is no advance mechanism etc.

Take the cap off, take the rotor off & remove the plate (3 nuts/bolts) & you'll be done. You need to replace the gasket behind the plate anyway & its probably a good idea to replace the oil seal too.

You can see the assembly here:

You'll need to disconnect the oil breather pipe as well.....
