The front hole without the wires looks like it has a mounting screw recessed there. That hole gets covered by the rubber bellows of the mirror stalk. The back part of the mirror mount has a plastic cover over it that you can pry off to reveal another mounting screw. Remove the screws, unplug the wiring, and you should have the mirror off in no time.

Use a thin blade screwdriver, knife blade, or something similar. Slip the blade under the edge of the plastic cover and pry it off. Try prying gently along the entire edge of the cover versus just in one place. Just be careful not to crack it if it is a brittle, aged plastic. Believe those plastic covers are very hard to find on their own should you need to replace it. Not sure if the cover is being reproduced by Unobtanium Supply.

Couldn't it just be some kind of hook instead of a screw?

Actually you need to slip a small screwdriver under the edge of the plastic cover and pry it off like as Anthony suggested .. I was not 100% sure that this plastic cover is separate from the rest. Very easy to do in fact !

    Thanks all
