Has anyone tried to remove the air outlet plates without taking off the upper dashboard. There is not much room between the windshield and the air outlets. They need to be sent out to clean up the sticky mess. Any help would be appreciated.

I was able to clean up the stickies on my 360 vents while still in place. While protecting the dash with a towel, I used alcohol and was able to rub off the black goo. It took a lot of paper towels but I was able to get it all off without taking them off ( once off, they're off, as indicated secured from underneath).

A little patience and you can clean them up

Cleaning of the soft touch is totally different than a proper refinish. Trust me, I don't enjoy doing those parts but feel obligated to give it to you straight :)

A good bunch of terry cloth towels works great with a little rubbing alcohol on it. I used masking tape on the window first and even some on my stitches. Then wet the terry cloth towel and wipe one direction and fold towel to clean area and repeat. Not a tough job but you need to be methodical and keep it simple.

Get a pack of terry rags from costco and wash on super cycle in hot and then dry on hot and then they are ready. The more you use the safer you are being.

On very small pieces (like the clips which conceal dash vents for a 348), you can use Purell hand sanitizer. It will remove the sticky goo, and leave the base black plastic. Whether that resulting black finish is acceptable is everyone's personal choice, but the Purell does dissolve and remove the goo.

p.s. Ben, thank you for your order yesterday !

You guys all must have much smaller fingers than I do. Cleaning them in place is something I could not even consider.

Same as above would not even consider being couped up over seats for hours.

My guess is I would ruin something else, like sitting on switches, bolsters etc
