I have a question for those who collect 1:18 BBR models... I purchased a few models from them, but until now I would like to remove the models from their leather bases, however the bottom has an velvet materials glued in place. How do you remove the velvet material to expose the screws without damaging the velvet? Its a rather nice leather base with red stitching!

you don't without penetrate the velvet. BUT... when you feel with your finger where the holes are; you cut with a sharpknife a cross above the hole; When you remove the screw and your screwdriver, the velvet will return in its place where it was before... Yes it is cut but almost invisible.

This exactly what I have done with all my 1:18 resin models from BBR and other companies. All are displayed in cabinets without the bases, which I store in their respective boxes. Just as Arjan wrote, it is easy to do. I use an X-acto knife to cut with.

Mine never leave the boxes, prefer not to touch the models, keeps them mint and avoids damnage and agony...
