The glove box switch on my Mondail QV is broken it doesnt switch at all I need to remove to see if it can be fixed or replace it.

Tried to remove the centre console but not had any joy. So far I have removed:

    - the 2 gate screws
    - 2 screws in front ash tray and removed the ash tray
    - 2 screws inside the cassette holder

the front part seems to come free at the present but the part where all switches are is not comin loose. I don't want to break anything so if anyone has some knowledge on how to remove the console it would be much appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Jackson

Before you get to the switch: Did you check the glove box solenoid directly with a 12V + and -?
It is easily accessible below the dash. Just in case. Unplug it an test. Make sure you don't keep power on it. Else it will melt solid. Only impulses!

Re the centre console: Remove both ash trays, the cubby hole screws, shift gate, hazard switch and the rear air out lets (pull them straight up). The insert is in two parts on my car: One from the rear lighter to the cubby hole, another part with the switches to the section holding the check control. Once you remove the above items, it kind of slides up and forward along the seat belt buckles.

There is a thread that talks about replacement of the old plastic switch faceure that you speak of. It actually has pics showing u how to do it.
I think I saved the thread will take a look and post it up if I can find it.

    Hi Peter,

Haven't had a chance to try yet stuck working on another project at present. Just watched MvT's video and looks like he has it covered.

    Best of luck.
