Gentlemen, to remove the outer covering under the door do I have to remove the rubber with the inscription ferrari? if so, would anyone help me choose the number of this rubber element? My guess is that after detaching it will no longer be usable? Is it # 14 62172100 ?
The rubber is contact cemented into an inset. Removing the rubber wont do anything. The entire sill that the rubber is mounted in needs to be removed.
Yes, that black plate with the rubber logo on it needs to be removed and it is difficult to pry it off the sill due to the adhesive Ferrari used. You need to be extra careful about prying up on it if you intend to reuse it because the panel distorts easily and there is no advantage to be gained by removing the rubber strip from the plate.
Good man, post the rest of the removal of the lower jamb cover for others. After the door sill is removed, what did you do next? Any pics?
Gentlemen, thank you for your help. The car is at car spa, where it is thoroughly cleaned and maintained. The whole car will be covered with transparent foil. During the works, it turned out that the external thresholds have slight gaps of colorless varnish. To remove them this involved unscrewing the upper part of the sill on the cabin side, after removing the rubber parts with the Ferrari inscription Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
