There was a series of posts recently on Tom Yang's site about removing a stuck cylinder head from a 365GTC/4. Not the same engine as a 365 2+2 (DOHC vs SOHC) but it may give you some hints and ideas. The posts are in the "Restoration Diary" index on Tom's site.

It can be a struggle to get them off (any engine with aluminum heads that uses studs).

You can make a puller from a piece of 1/2" steel plate.

Holes are drilled corresponding to the rocker arm mounts. this is what attaches the plate to the head.

Holes are drilled and tapped that correspond with each of the head studs. Long bolts are inserted here and used to push against the ends of the studs (carefully, evenly).

    Voila!! Movement!!

I have just done it on a 308 .I used the inlet and exhaust studs to hold the puller on (managed to pull some out of the head the heads were that tight)and pushed down on the head studs .Be very careful there is an indentation in the top of the studs that the pushing bolt must sit in otherwise the pushing bolt goes scew and damages the head stud threads .I managed to damage some threads and now am strugling to remove the studs .Don't know if your motor is the same but this was my experience.I can mail you some photo's if you like.

To avoid damaging the top of the stud put a suitable sized ball from a ball bearing down the hole and push on that. It makes turning bolt easier, and concentrates the force in the centre of the stud, thus avoiding damage.

    Been there, done that

Don't remove the studs unless they're hopelessly damaged.

The studs can be even harder to get out than the head was to remove. You also stand a chance of having the threads come out of the block with it.

Much better to chase the threads. Get a thread chasing die (not the same as a threading die). These usually are sold in a set along with thread files. You might need the file to get the die started.

    Post some pictures.

Where were you guy's when I was struggling ?Ball bearing is a brilliant idea .I have managed to drill out two studs successfully so far.
