Anyone have any tried and true methods for removing ink from leather? I have a blue ink mark on my driver's side door of my 360 leather and can not get it off. Was wondering if anyone has removed ink from the leather before?

    Thanks

Call the guys at Advantage Certified in Manassas VA. Ask for James in the service dept and tell him I told you to call.

Tell him you need to talk to thier lead detailing guy. He got a fat black indelible ink marker stripe out of my leather seat in my M3 without a trace.

    Number is: 703-361-3335

Hair spray of any sorts. My son took a pen to my italian leather formal living set and it took it off no problem. Best.

Vodka also removes blue ink from ball point pens. Works well on clothes, so likely to work well on leather too.

Don't use too much, just dab it on a cloth and rub out the ink. Save the remaining Vodka in the bottle for either celebrating the results or drowning your sorrows. :)

Hairspray or rubbing alcohol work best in my experience. I have use both to remove ink stains from dress shirts......

Coach (the handbag people) just said to me, don't try to take it off, it is impossible, it just adds to the paneta of the object. However I have no personal experience removing ink, and all or any of the former advice might be effective.

My wife did put a blue ballpoint smear on my tan interrior in one of the ralleys we attended. We had enough fun that it was worth it. Havn't tried to remove the offending mark.

Do NOT touch it-you may only make it worse/permanent. Contact a high end furniture store in your area and ask for a recommendation of a professional leather technician.
He/she should be able to take care of the stain.

I own a furniture store and we deal with this issue on a regular basis. Many things factor on the stain removal and the proper technique-color, analine vs. semi analine dyed, etc...

Simply put, let the expert handle it or you may very well make it worse.

Agree! Once you set the spot by playing with various remendies you may have to live with it. Personally have done this with new aircraft leather and prior times in various cars. Have learned the lesson the hard way. Go to a professional.

I hoped I would never have read another post like mine (hyperlinked a couple replys back).

Ok, well, having a professional is the way to go. However, you can get it out with PATIENCE and persistance, I stress the PATIENCE part.

Get yourself some Leatherique oil and pristine clean. Take a sponge paint brush and liberally dab the oil on the area and cover the area with saran wrap. Do this as frequently as possible, key is to keep the oil from drying, hence the wrap and frequency.

The ink will fade little by little, but it will fade. PATIENCE.

DO NOT use other products, some will work but are harsh.

My ink had actually impregnated the leather like a tatoo, yours sounds like surface mark, not a problem.

Good luck contact me anytime with questions. John.

I had blue ink on my Acura's rear seat and use a bit of Oxyclean mixed with water to wipe it off.
