    Hey guys, the mechanic I have working on my shift linkage is have problems removing the pan (or I guess I should refer to it as the "panel" protecting the underside of the car). I think it covers the fuel cells and runs almost all the way back to the engine. He needs to remove that to access the second shift shaft bushing that's located on the underside of the car. How does that come off?
    Thanks

    Hi, its held on with about 14 or so bolts all around the edge of the panel.
    You can see some of them in my recent floorpan video.
    All the best, Bell

    Hi Mark, There is no panel protecting the fuel tanks all the way to the end of the engine. If you have, it sure is not original. Like Bell mentioned there is only a protection plate till the first round frame bar where your shift shaft goes through. From there you might have a cat screen preventing from animals getting into your engine bay. (US only from what I understand).

    Between the tanks you have a tie rod that you need to get to for adjusting the shift linkage.

    Pic1 = Tank protection plate, between the green lines you see the shift shaft. Red circles the bolts you need to remove.
    Pic2 = Tie rod
