Is it possible to remove window trim without ruining them?

I need to paint them as they have lost some colour, is it maybe better to do it when they are attached on the car?

You can’t remove that trim without removing the rear side glass. I painted mine in place.

Yea if anybody can come up with a solution take my money. Take it all. I have had 4 shops claim to be able to fix it but sure enough…each threw up their hands when it came to actual solutions. I read that you can refinish them by hand somehow using a finger and some “goop”.

What I have learned for the 456, at least, is that the rear side windows are one unit (true) and those rear windows need to be replaced (at least on the 456 cars) if you want better trim. This is also true for the OEM repair for the drivers and pass door front glass gap, they break and replace that rear window (on the 456 at least) in order to properly repair that.

Zero 456 windows with good trim have been available for the last 6 years. I had Bobileff order some windows out of Europe but we sent them back. Trim was trashed. I feel JEALOUS when I see cheaper cars with perfect trim. It is the ONLY thing not sorted on my car. Godspeed.

    Bedrari,

They turned out great! Mine were bad, showing some silver areas where they paint was gone. I had to do the side window trim and the trim around the rear glass. Masked it up with tape, lightly sanded by hand, then painted with a rattle can. Pretty easy, just time consuming to properly mask. Sorry, I don’t have any before and after photos.
