According to Fisichella, his teammate at Renault in 2007 will be either Raikkenen or Kovalainen. That's a new self started rumor, all I have been hearing is Montoya/Webber.
I hope Webber goes to Renault. If he can't succeed there with their bullet proof reliability, which is Webber's biggest obstacle at Williams, then there are no more excuses.
As long as he gets his explanation from Schumi about the Monaco incident, he can then put his mind at ease and get back to showing the world his superior driving skills.
Is Fisi contracted at Renault for next year, or is there a possibility that he may not be there as well? I would absolutely love to see Montoya at Renault.
Fisichella is not signed with Renault for next year. He is supposed to find out soon whether or not he will be asked to come back and drive for Renault. I would say there is a greater chance that Montoya ends up at Renault than Webber. I know Flavio said some good things about Webber at Monaco but he also said good things about Fisico too. I don't think much can come from his comments. Isn't Flavio Webber's manager? He might be trying to talk Webber up to get him some more money for his next contract on another team.
Here's what Fisi had to say - Giancarlo Fisichella says he will partner Kimi Raikkonen or Heikki Kovalainen if he stays at the Renault team next season. Fisichella's contract comes to an end this year and the Roman is still hopeful of staying at the French squad next year, although he admits he still doesn't know where his future lies. The Renault driver, however, says that if he stays in the team, he will be partnered by a Finnish driver. "I don't know who would be my teammate next year in Renault, but I know that he will be a Finn: Raikkonen or Kovalainen," the Italian told Gazzetta dello Sport. Kovalainen is the team's test driver and Renault boss Flavio Briatore said last year the highly-rated Finn would land a race seat in 2007. McLaren driver Raikkonen has also been linked with Renault as he continues to evaluate his options for the future now that his current contract expires. Raikkonen has also been linked with the Ferrari team. Renault are yet to announce their drivers for 2007, with both their seats up for grabs following the announcement that world champion Fernando Alonso will move to McLaren. Fisichella is still hoping to keep his seat, but the Italian says it's too early to know. "I will know (my future) soon. The driver market is warming up," said the Italian. With all this speculation and what if's - heck the daytime tv soap operas don't stand a chance against F1 - it's amazing how a snippet of info can produce so much speculation. Carol
