(from autosport) Renault's new R28 ran in public for the first time on Monday morning, with two-time champion Fernando Alonso completing its first lap at the Valencia circuit. Alonso, rejoining Renault after a year at the McLaren team, had to wait a few hours before he was able to take to the track, which was covered by a thick fog which made it impossible to run. The Spaniard finally managed to get the R28 to debut around noon after the track was opened again. The new car, sporting the now common bridge wing most teams are using, is scheduled to continue running at Valencia during the week before being officially launched on 31st January. Mixed with the McLaren wing over the nose. I really wish they'd go back to the 2006 livery tho, looks much nicer on the car.
