Don't get me wrong, but the typical Ferrari should always be RED!!!... Can I paint it red Ferrari, or not even dare to even try?!?!?... If I knew, I wouldn't even tray or dar to ask!!!... Go on, destroy me!!!... He, he, he....
I would not color change the car, I think it would hurt the value in the long run. Just wrap it in Red, if that is the color you want.
that is (or is a knock off of) Janis Joplin's Porsche.... also cameo of it in the movie Across the Universe...Hers was not convertible but same idea.
I don’t think many actual Ferrari people think Ferraris should always be red. Are you considering red because you like it or because you think that’a what other people expect? At Ferrari shows, it’s often a sea of red - the non-red cars stand out more. Which Ferrari model is it?
If you really want to understand the shape of a car, paint it silver. Color adds emotion. Silver (essentially gray) will allow you to see all the curves and details that are flattened with color and made invisible with black and white. Its true of any object but cars are one of the best to paint silver if you want to truly see the shape.
Gray or metallic gray? Those are totally different colors. Metallic gray typically looks GREAT, non-metallic doesn’t sound that great, but I haven’t seen many non-metallic gray Ferraris. What model and what exact color gray is the OP referring to? Maybe post pics if he really wants opinions on a color change.
Depends on what car it is. If it is an 812 or F12.... Then the answer is No. If it is a Challenge Stradale absolutely. Perhaps a Dino yes. I love my 575 in Red and I would love a Green one and a Blue one too. Horses for courses! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Agree many of the classic Ferraris look great in red. The newer ones which depending on the model may have more or less surface details which stand out better in other colors. 288GTO or 3x8? Color me red 4x8? Silver grey or blue F12/812 better in the greys and blues 296- looks good in red SF90- red or white Roma? Not red imho PS- anything but red But it’s all subjective! Black, yellow and blues = good Red, grays and white = bad Orange and greens work on McLaren but not on Ferraris
I think the PS looks stunning in Metallic Reds. I chose Black...... But I would definitively get red. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I'm guessing OP is talking about the 430 spider referred to in his other thread - if so stick with gray it suits the car far better than red especially with the burgundy interior
Pretty simple to me. If you ever plan on selling it, wrap it dont paint it. If you are planning on dying with it, then paint it.
From the other thread, it sounds like he doesn't own it yet and is considering buying it (or the red California). If that is still the case, if I were the OP, I'd wait to find a car in the color I want -- never in a million years would I buy a newer model Ferrari (2008) with presumably paint that doesn't need any work, and then repaint it. It will cost a LOT to paint it correctly, and a repaint/non-original color will hurt resale value also. Wrap I guess would be an option, but I've heard there's a chance there can be issues damaging original paint removing the wrap (I have no personal experience with wrap, so happy to be corrected by anybody who has been through it on that era Ferrari). If was an older car he already owned that needed paint anyway, then changing color makes more sense. It feels "wrong" to change newer car paint anyway, but that the owner's decision. Regarding the color, I would take this metallic gray over red every time, but only the owner's preference matters (assuming he really likes red versus just doing it on the basis of what he presumes others prefer on a Ferrari). Photo from the other thread...
He may (obviously) be having difficulty finding one of the ultra-rare red ones - those so rarely come up for sale.
