Repainting my Dino #7580-what color?

Verde Medio is shown in the Dino color examples present on the first page of the link. That color looks great; being the original color I would not change it to something else. A color that is rare should not be painted over with black or red. Just my 2 cents!

I agree. I've never seen a 246 in Verde Medio, should look great.

I just painted my 74 GTS the original verde medio and it looks spectacular.

WELL SINCE THE CAR WAS PAINTED BEFORE YOU OWNED IT. I WOULD SAY PAINT IT YELLOW. I THINK YELLOW IS VERY COOL COLOR FOR A DINO..

I would paint original color. Prior owner repainted mine red when he had it restored...originally it was Giallo Fly (great color!). If the paint wasn't in great shape I would have repainted it back to original color. I'm a bit of a stickler for originality, but at the end of the day paint it whatever color will make you happy!

Forget the purists. I wouldn't paint my car green but a nice dark red metalic would fill the bill. Original green will not increase the resale value unless you are going to show it seriously. If you are going to drive it, paint it your color. Don't know about color sources but PPG should be able to match anything.

One owner who ordered his new 599 Ferrari in Rosso Rubino was not entirely happy with the shade. In bright sunlight the shade is great but on a dull day with little sunshine the color takes on a brownish tone that is less attractive.
Some of the experts here will chime in with more paint information about numbers for you...

If you can no think for youself, paint it original colour

 

The original color is awesome, and would really make your car special. Of course, all Dinos are special, but what a labor of love to make it look like the day it left the factory. My old Mustang is its original light green metallic (Called Ivy Gold, I believe) and whenever I drive it, at least two or three people walk over to say how much they love the color, and how they've never seen one before. Look, people paint their Dinos purple, and it's still a great looking car. If you simply don't like the color, then you have to go to something else. You sort of can't screw up a Dino no matter what color you make it (as long as it's not red).

Verde Liberace sounds like a great name for a color but verde medio is the color of my car.

 

I might paint my second Dino that. Nice color, not factory though, I don't think. What is it?

John, it is factory verde medio. I think being in the bright sun betrays the color a little. That and my camera makes it appear a little more blue than it is in person. We went to great pains with the local Glasurit dealer to get the color right. I used the paint under the data plate on the door jamb which had never been removed. Probably spent six hours dialing in the final color. I would say we hit the color and metallics about 97% dead on.

 

My Maserati Bora was originally painted a similar color; Ischia Bleu.
Ischia is an island off of Naples and the color was a metallic sea-green blue which had more blue in it than your photos show, but like you said the sunlight transforms it.
