Okay, got a question for the group. Following in incident with a pot hole, I pulled my wheels and put them on a balance machine. One of the front wheels is going side to side like a downhill skier on a slalom course. I drove on this wheel for 80 miles, didn't feel anything--no pulling, no vibration.

The wheels (all four) are being sent out to get checked out. The one that I am certain is bent may be able to be repaired. If not, it will be replaced.

    My questions are:

    1. Is it possible that this be fixed/repaired?

    2. Would you trust a repair of this kind?

    3. Should I push for the wheel to be replaced?

Wheels are 430C centerlocks by the way. Repair shop is Wheels America in Houston if that matters

Depends on the severity of the bend, sounds like you might have tweaked the face of the wheel which can be a difficult repair. It will ultimately depend on what the wheel repair facility says.

I would trust the wheel after a professional repair, but would have it inspected for hairline cracks or fractures after a few hundred mile of driving to be on the safe side.

If insurance is being involved, I would expect a new wheel and nothing less.
