I've read many threads on the importance of replacing the rubber fuel hoses on a 20 year old car, especially the filler hose & the 2 connecting the 2 tanks. But what is the recommendation of replacing the high pressure hoses...the ones around the fuel pump & accumulator with the fittings & braided steel covers?

Generally those are quite good as they are not rubber inside of the SS braid. Inspect them and use your best judgment. Don't forget to replace the fuel pump feed hose.

Thanks, Rifledriver. I'm getting ready to drain the tanks now...

By the way, do you know what the inner tube is made of? I work for a company that makes automotive OEM hoses & might have some access to some technical data regarding the material.

I should of said I've never seen it go bad from age. But obviously as with anything it can be damaged.
I found a scrap of it lying around, no markings that I recognize like epdm etc. But FWIW here it is "Cohnen 313 0305 DIN 7338/74324 PA 12 wswLT. I hope your guys can decipher that. Let me know what you find out.

    Hi Ron,
The car is looking just beautiful! hope you are enjoying it.
One thing I might add. As long as you have the fuel tanks drained, look for a strainer that most have @ the fitting on the tank outlet. Often overlooked, these can be plugged, and really drive one a bit daffy trying to figure out mixture anomalies later.

Thanks Brian. I'll give the engineers the number Monday & we'll see what happens.

    Hi Kermit...Sending you a PM.

These are the comments from the engineers concerning the hose number:

    COHNEN is the manufacturer
DIN 7338/74324 is a German standards no. similiar to SAE standards
PA12 is the designation for nylon
WSW is the designation for stainless steel
    LT is unknown

So, it sounds like the inner tube may be made of nylon.
