I am ready for a new ride, just turned 13K on the odometer. Should I be patient and wait for the replacement model or go with the sucker bet and upgrade to a 2017 model? I always say the last year of production if the best year, by then they have worked out all of the kinks.

New is not always better, especially the first year, new platform etc.....

New is not always better, especially the first year and a brand new platform, etc.....

New is a more sportier version and apparently is quite a change - for me I'd wait. Had an older California (2010) and was happy with my move to 458. Not been tempted at all by the current Californias but we all have different requirements. Might return if it's looks change for the better and the handling improves. Makes me wonder if it'll have rear wheel steering?

I have a 2017 with HS pack and it's been fun, solid, and such a great DD. My experience with ferrari is that everything takes a very long time. Even if there is a new GT coming it could take months before we can order and receive. If it's time for a new one go for it :)

I just got the aftermarket HS added to my cali T and I can tell you that its a remarkable machine. If it was any louder I don't think I could drive it to the hospital. The handling is amazing, it has classic lines and looks great. I don't mean to rain on whats coming down the pipeline but I like the way the F12 looks over the 812, and am wondering if the new GT will be a shorter 812 with a hardtop convertible.

Jennie's is going for sale next week at Boardwalk Ferrari (I dropped off today for preconsignment inspection/detail/pics). Less than 700 miles, 2017 with HS, and beautiful spec Grigio/Crema/Carbon/Daytona Seats. Will be the best 2017 on market for now, but we're realistic about price. Contact Ken Murphy at Boardwalk and say you are interested in Rob Lay's 2017 California T ([email protected]). Anyone welcome to contact Ken now if interested, but I'm not officially listing on FerrariChat until they get all the professional pics next week.

Tough choice I bet when we see what the new one looks like. I got the last year of the E60 BMW and then 3 years later bought the first F10 M5 sold in the US. I liked the tech advancements and HP improvement in the F10 M5 but didn't like the body style as much as I did the E60. Most people liked the F10 better than the E60. I may be in the minority again but I like the F12 styling better than the 812 too so guess for me it's going to depend on how much they have upgraded the power and the tech along with the body style change. I am enjoying the 17 with HS immensely though so I will probably do what I did with the E60, wait and watch.

    Huh?

    It's brand new...

Can you elaborate why you/she is thinking of selling?

I'd trust Ferrari and go with the new car.

Of course if you are one those who think that Ferrari lost the plot the day after they made your car, like some FChatter, then you won't like the new stuff.

we had planned to only keep 6 months anyway, we're trying to "play the game" with the dealer. We bought the 2013 immediately ordering the 2017, when it came in traded the 2013 for it, and now putting the 2017 up for sale. We'll then trade into something else.

I LOVE all Ferraris, just some more than others. ;) I have a short list and most are facing downward pressure the next year. We have a year to still get tax trade after the sell.
