Here's a pic of the crank position sensors from my 348. Considering that replacements cost an exhorbitant $20/ea, I'm thinking of just repairing these. The sensors on my old Jeep lasted over 200,000 miles, and since the Ferrari has only 70k, I'm sure they're still good. The miss I'm fixing is only intermittent, about 1 out of every 100 rpm's, so I figure they're 99% good. My big question is what materials to use, and I'm pretty sure that Plastidip is correct. There were too many small pieces that fell off during removal to put them back together in any reasonable period of time. Maybe just wrapping them in electrical tape would do it, but I'd like to cure the miss if I can. Does anybody have experience with Plastidip in this application? Input is appreciated, including alternative repair procedures.

I don't think the judges will notice the black grease. Why don't you just RTV it so you don't have to keep applying grease :) That should fix it!

I just bought two new Kia ones this morning from the ebay link, Eric (3Fourty8) posted in the 348 parts sourcing, interchange thread. Only cost $16.11 each + postage.

Not worth the trouble with those old ones!! :)

    Regards,
    Phil.

I'm concerned about the con"duck"tivity of the metallic coating on that tape. Don't want to do less than a "professional grade" repair. Maybe add gold connectors while I'm at it! Do you think metallic gold colored paint will substitute on the terminals?

    Bruce,

You have spent too long in the sun without that tinfoil head protector, just get the Plastidip in the metallic Gold colour, it will do the both jobs then!!! ;) ;)

    Regards,
    Phil.
